Our Story

Some dreams take root in unexpected places. Ours began when an Englishman met a Finnish girl in Australia. We traveled, we built a life together, and we always carried a shared dream that one day, we’d create a lakeside cabin in her homeland.

That dream became Kettula Getaway. Nestled deep in the Finnish wilderness, the cabin is our vision brought to life. We wanted a space that felt traditional yet modern, cosy yet spacious, off-grid yet comfortable.

Large windows bring the outside in, so you’re always immersed in nature. The wood-fired sauna is the heart of the experience, with a panoramic view of Lake Kiantajärvi. The hot tub, heated by fire, is the perfect way to soak under the endless northern sky. And just meters away, the lake is always waiting, whether for a refreshing swim or a quiet moment by the shore.

Each season brings its own magic here. In winter, the cabin is wrapped in deep snow, silent and still. In summer, life bursts into color, and the midnight sun stretches the days.

We built this cabin for ourselves, for our family, for our love of Finland. Now, we want to share it with you. Welcome to Kettula Getaway.
